Why not add Drawing to the mix!
January 14, 2019
Another year has passed by and the older I get, the faster time seems to fly by. It’s been a year filled with new challenges and opportunities for self-development.
One of the most exciting highlights of the past year has been my efforts towards learning to sketch. I feel that it is very important to understand form, shape, light and shadow like the back of my hand to make my clients look their best. I used to love drawing as a kid but after elementary school, I stopped, and thought it was better to focus on more “important,” required subjects such as Math, English, and Science but now I've come full circle and have gone back to the basics.
I'm using drawing as a tool to help me visualize my thoughts and ideas. It’s crazy how different art mediums overlap with each other and spur creativity. It was Mukul’s brilliant idea to get us enrolled in a drawing/painting class from an absolutely wonderful teacher, Charlene Freeman, from Cloud 9 Art School. Every week, I look forward to our drawing exercises that we spend an hour or two on.
I can already feel a certain freedom and confidence when I put pencil to paper, to sketch out concepts and ideas that will one day help me plan for future photo shoots. 2019 will be a super interesting year, I can feel it!
